After a successful Tour of Utah I headed straight for the heat and humidity to prepare for nationals. I stayed in Asheville, NC and was impressed with the great riding. The weather was cooler than past years but still hot. We had a decent race as a team but couldn’t pull off the win. George Hincapie was super strong and was able to get the win in his hometown. It feels good to be home for the week taking it easy before heading to Tour of Missouri. It’s going to be a great race to end the season. The motivation is still high and the team is really riding well together. It’ll be hard beating the likes of Mark Cavendish and Thor Hushov in the sprints. I’ll be looking for the break most days and hoping they time the chase wrong. Missouri will also be good as I can drill Rory on what it’s like to be a new father. After the season it’s one month of super rest before the baby is due. Jenny is doing great even though the little guy is a mover and a shaker. Time flies!
