yes….still pouring here in CA.  The race started this morning at 8am in the cute town of Sausalito, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.  POURING.  We went down to the start to watch the teams parade in.  It’s kinda like watching a circus going from one city to another.  Cars, HUGE motor homes, big vans all splashed with sponsor logos and team colors.  And then there are about 100 police cards, motorcycles and other race caravan vehicles.  It’s pretty fun to watch.  We said hi to brad and the boys and then high-tailed it to the first KOM (king of the mountains) climb.  The race actually went over the Golden Gate bridge, i bet that was pretty cool to watch.

The first KOM was top of a 2,500ft climb.  There was a group of 10 off the front and then brad was in the second main group.  The break of 10 riders included Cameron Evans from Team OUCH.  The climb was AWESOME!  There were HUNDREDS of people up there; i couldn’t believe how many people still came out in the rain.  it was crazy.   Brad saw us and looked great….they were absolutely flying up the mountain.

From there we blitzed to the finish in Santa Cruz.  What an exciting race…I recommend watching it on versus, especially the last climb, Levi L. is an animal!  Brad finished with the 3rd group that came through…65th place for the day.  This really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things though and neither does his overall time because he is working for the top guys on his team…and that’s what he did today.   He looked great after the race.  I think his legs are coming around and he’s feeling a bit more comfortable racing.  Floyd was out signing autographs when we were by the motor home (i posted some pics).  It was cute because a lot of little kids wanted brads autograph too.
